This project has reinforced my understanding of the effect we educators (and really, all people) have on other people around us. What really struck me though, was that we can actually improve the moods of the people around us in a profound way.
The three most important things I've learned so far:
Compliments change lives. Go ahead, spread them around, they are free!
Students are human beings. Sometimes we forget how complex and tortured the teenage years can be.
Show kids you care and they will change your life.
